Active-duty military, first responders, veterans, and their families receive free admission as part of Free First Sunday and the Blue Star Museums Program, sponsored by Special Risk Insurance DBA VFIS of Miss/Lou.
We also participate in the reciprocal membership benefits of the Association of Science-Technology Centers, North American Reciprocal Museums, and Southeastern Reciprocal Museums program.

LASM’s administrative offices are open Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM-5:00 PM.
*School group reservations also available on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the last entry of the day will be admitted at 4:00 PM, which is when the last Irene W. Pennington Planetarium show of the day begins.

Directions
Coming from the north:
- Take I-110 south to Business District.
- Exit at North Street/Capitol Park (right-hand exit 1G or I-110).
- Follow service road and turn right at the second red light onto North Street. Proceed down North Street toward the river.
- Turn left onto River Road. Go 5 blocks. The museum is on the right across the street from the Old State Capitol.
Coming from the west or south:
- Take I-10 to I-110 (Business District).
- Exit at North Street (left-hand exit 1D or I-110).
- Proceed down North Street toward the river. Turn left onto River Road. Go 5 blocks.
- The museum is on the right across the street from the Old State Capitol.
Coming from the east:
- Take I-12 to I-10 to I-110 (Business District).
- Exit at North Street (left-hand exit 1D or I-110).

Parking
Automobile & Van Parking
Metered street parking is available on surrounding streets (view map). For a complete parking guide for the downtown area, please visit the Baton Rouge Downtown Development District Website. Note: Please do not park vans in areas that are designated for bus parking.
Bus Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Due to limited parking, buses are required to park offsite. However, a safe area to drop-off and pick-up students is available near the entrance of the Louisiana Art & Science Museum. Remember that parking is not permitted in this area. Do not block traffic on River Road to drop off or pick up passengers. Off-site bus parking is provided under Interstate 10 and at North Boulevard (view map). Please remember to coordinate a pickup time with your driver.
Bus Routes
Capital Transportation Corporation buses on the Florida Boulevard route stop on River Road directly across from the Louisiana Art & Science Museum. For more information on routes and schedules, visit the CTC website or call CTC’s Info Line at 225.336.0821.
Free Admission
Free admission is available every first Sunday of the month.

Accessibility
The Louisiana Art & Science Museum is accessible for a wide variety of visitors and includes ramps, elevators, and wheelchairs upon request. There is handicap-accessible parking in LASM’s employee lot that can be made accessible to visitors upon request, and there are five spaces for wheelchair seating in the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium. Areas for stroller parking are located outside both hands-on galleries.
For those who have vision impairments, there is a narrated tour of the museum available at virtual-lasm.org/lasm-360 and single-use earbuds are available at the front desk. We also have tactile books for the visually impaired on astronomy topics available for all ages, located in Science Station and Discovery Depot.
For those who have hearing impairments, we welcome you to bring an interpreter who may be admitted to the museum free-of-charge.
