Studio Saturdays

LASM’s “Studio Saturday” program provides the community with opportunities to learn about various styles of art making from local artists. Talented Baton Rouge artists Eleanor Owen Kerr, Kelsey Livingston, Meagan Moore, Chase Mullen, Beth Welch, Brandon Lewis, and Ellen Ogden have hosted previous “Studio Saturdays” at LASM, teaching students how to create art in their respective art forms.

Did you know LASM offers scholarships for our “Studio Saturday” art programs? The ArtLean Scholarship was originally initiated and created through the generosity of Dr. Khanh Ho. We are taking applications for students to join us at a free or reduced rate through ArtLean scholarships for each studio art program. For information on how to donate to our ArtLean scholarship or to apply for it, contact Tracey Barhorst, curator and public programs manager, at tbarhorst@lasm.org

LASM’s “Studio Saturdays” are supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, as administered by the RAC. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment of the Arts and funded in part by the Alma Lee, Norman and Cary Saurage Fund of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation on behalf of Cary Saurage.
