Job Summary:

The Operations Ambassador serves as the Gallery Guide for School Tours and is part of a team working under the supervision of the Operations Director, in collaboration with the Education Director. Primary duties are to provide engaging educational tours for school audiences; ensure the safety of visitors; and ensure security for the objects of art and other museum property. The position requires professionalism, excellent visitor and customer service skills, assertiveness, flexibility, patience, good judgment, and discipline.  The Museum Gallery Guide must be a prompt and reliable team member.

Skills & Qualifications:

B.A. or B.S. preferred. Experience in education, art, communications, science, math, engineering, or technology disciplines desired.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• To study and learn about museum exhibits and the background information that makes the exhibits come alive for school visitors and guests
• To provide gallery and exhibition tours, primarily for school groups
• To ensure the safety of our visitors
• To provide welcoming visitor and customer service
• To provide security for exhibitions and museum facilities
• To assist in crowd control and movement
• Other duties as assigned
