Manchac: In the Wake of North Pass
On View January 9, 2015 Through March 14, 2015
Located in the Louisiana Art & Science Museum
This installation by Meagan Singleton, an LSU graduate, explored the destructive beauty and complex role of invasive aquatic plants upon the fragile ecology of Louisiana’s bayous.
After much research and many forays by canoe, Singleton collected Water Hyacinth and Alligator Weed and transformed them, first into paper and then into evocative pulp paintings and sculptural works.
