Improvisation: The Art and Healing Power of Jazz, located in The Republic Finance Gallery, celebrates the history of jazz but also its ability to positively affect the human condition.
Due to its improvisational yet soothing nature, scientific research shows that jazz music has many health benefits, such as relieving stress, lowering blood pressure, lessening depression, and increasing focus and productivity. Along with diving into the science of jazz music’s health benefits, Improvisation: The Art and Healing Power of Jazz highlights key moments in the history of jazz and how they have impacted the music style we know today.

About the Exhibit
The artists featured in this exhibition, Claudia Hayden, Herman Leonard, Brandon Lewis, and Chuck Stewart, were chosen for their unique visions of jazz but also for their creative ability to celebrate the therapeutic power of jazz through art and music.
