For Educators
Plan Your Field Trip
You have enough on your plate as an educator – our goal is to make the field trip planning process easy, straightforward, and fun.
Field trip itineraries are customized for your group and based on program selections. Check out LASM’s 2024-2025 Adventure Planner at a Glance to learn about the wide range of PreK-12 Experiences we offer.
When completing the School Reservation Request Form, double-check the accuracy of your information and provide an estimation of parents/chaperones who are not included in the reservation. An accurate total of participating adults and students is required at least one week prior to your visit. Programs fill up quickly – book early to ensure your desired date and programs!
Contact our friendly and knowledgeable team with any questions at reservations@lasm.org or 225.344.5272 x 119. We will be happy to assist you in creating an unforgettable learning experience, including recommending an itinerary of programs for your students!

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the museum plan my trip for me? Yes! The LASM Reservation Team will do all the work. Simply let us know which experiences you are interested in, and we will create a schedule for you and your students. We can also recommend an itinerary based on one of our focus areas (Egypt, Astronomy, Engineering, etc.).
Do educators/school staff pay? No! However, students and parents/chaperones pay the same per-head rate based on the programs you select.
Can we take photos? Yes! Flash photography may not be permitted in some galleries. Please share your experience with us by tagging LASM’s Facebook (Louisiana Art & Science Museum) and Instagram accounts (@lasmbr)!
When is the best time to book? Book as soon as possible, especially for the King Tut Guided Exhibition Tour! We recommend booking spring semester field trips during the fall semester if possible. April and May are our busiest months.
What do we do about lunch? You have the option to schedule a break in your visit for lunch on the reservation form. We have no dining facilities but will gladly store the picnic lunches that you provide for your students. Students can enjoy their lunches in a designated outdoor space or, in the case of inclement weather, inside the building.
