Planetarium shows begin on the hour; there is no admittance to the theater once a show has begun. Doors open for ticket sales 30 minutes prior to first show of the day.
LASM accepts cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Gallery Hours
LASM galleries are open:

LASM is closed on Mondays and on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Mardi Gras, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

General Discounts
LASM members receive discounts on show and special exhibit tickets.
Visitors with a valid AAA card receive $1 off general admission.
Individual members of Louisiana Association of Museums receive free general admission with a valid card.
Two adults and two children living in the same household receive free general admission if they present a valid membership card from an ASTC institution.
General discounts are not applicable for planetarium shows, large-format films or special exhibits.
Group Tours
Groups over 15
Groups of more than 15 people require a reservation. Please call (225) 344-5272, ext. 137 or email the tour coordinator to request a reservation. Groups may reserve seats in LASM's planetarium shows and may participate in open touring.College/University Groups

Students and faculty on university-sponsored field trips receive free admission to the museum, and discount pricing on Planetarium shows and special exhibitions with valid ID.School Group Tours
Museum guide-led tours introduce students of all ages to LASM’s exhibits and hands-on galleries. Group coordinators schedule activities based on the age of their group and the availability of the exhibits. Groups may take 30-minute tours in each of the following areas: Egyptian Gallery, Art Galleries, Discovery Depot, Science Station, and Solar System Gallery. Only school groups may participate in LASM's school classes or auditorium programs.Tours are available Tuesday-Friday during the school year and require a reservation.
