Class Description

In this longtime favorite introduction to fine art, our youngest students have a wonderful time exploring works of art to discover shapes and color. Students also delight in their creative discovery as they make artworks inspired by Henri Matisse and experience the magic of color.

Grades PreK—K
VA-CA-E4 Students will express and explain opinions about visual works of others using basic art vocabulary
VA-AP-E4 Students will recognize that there are many possibilities and choices in the processes for designing and producing visual arts
VA-HCP-E2 Students will recognize universal symbols and how works of art communicate a universal language
VA-CE-E5 Students will draw on imagination, individual experiences, and group activities to generate ideas for visual expression
