A-camping we will go! Dipper the bear and friends take young students on a fun-filled interactive camping adventure to discover constellations, our moon, and other daytime and nighttime objects in the sky. This live, presenter-led program is intended for first-time visitors to the planetarium.


Grade Level: Pre-K–K

State Standards, Benchmarks, and GLEs

Introduction to what is in the day and night skies, motion of the Sun throughout the day, introduction to weather (clouds and rainbows, our Moon, constellations as patterns, and meteors).

Grade Pre-K
ESS-E-B1  Learn about objects in the sky through nonfiction literature.

Grade K
ESS-E-B1 Discuss and differentiate the above content and introduce concepts of near and far, night and day, and phases of the Moon.
