ART EXHIBITION GALLERIES

Objects tell stories! Exhibitions provide excellent opportunities for educators to create uniquely relevant lessons for students by using objects and artifacts to create narratives. Connections to classroom curriculum can be made in many ways through exhibitions. For example, in social studies, objects can be related to chronological and historical thinking skills, cultural and social development, government and citizenship, environment and society, geography, economics, and global challenges. Objects, artifacts, and accompanying interpretive text provide unique resources to support Science Practices; Common Core Standards in ELA; and literacy in history/social studies, science, and technical subjects.

LASM museum educators are available for consultation about upcoming exhibitions and their connections to your curricular needs, and teachers are welcome to visit exhibitions before their group visit. Extended bookings are also available to provide a deeper experience.
